My new Crochet Slippers... And 18. Spring Festival of our University

Hi Dear Friends, Today is a very sunny day and our University Spring Festival has began yesterday. So many different activities, concerts, talk shows, all enjoyable games, carnivals and etc were began yesterday morning. And I must proudly say that I am the Academic consultant and the head of the University Rock Community..
This is not a joke..:) I and Rock, Rock and I... Many question marks.. But the first one is Why and the second one is How..:))
Really I don't know.. I am the head of University Rock community for one year. That is hard for me to decide what the community will do, concerts, visitings or etc.
Well I know some rock groups of course, but they are so old and from 70s and 80s or the newests are from 90s... Hard job... But I have good assistans that do the mission of course.
I have some traditional photos of Spring Festival activities and I will show them.
I want to show my new crochet slippers first..

And I really want to show another slippers which was given me from my neighbour. My neighbour her name is Gonul is a mother and 1 year older than me. Happy and pretty woman that she is making this kind of slippers and selling them for his son's education. But she gave this slippers as s gift.. Thank you dear Gonul. But as soon as possible I must make something for her and give as a gift too.
This a knitted slippers, she used silver beads on some parts of the slippers.

Their shapers are very different but very pretty on foot.. I searched for the pattern to describe my blogging friends. But I couldn't find any Turkish or English pattern of it. If I find or learn how to make of course I will share with you..

And now I want to share some photos that I took them yesterday, at the beginning of the Spring Festival of our University.
These photos are some traditional and ethnic cloths of old soldiersof army. I went near them and I asked If  I should take photos with them.. Here they are..

I want to add a very small movie taht I had taken yesterday. This is a traditional very old song..

And finally the most important activity of the Spring Festival for me..... This is the day 9th for quitting smoking. But... also the day 9th for eating so so so much.....:))

Crochet Basket Cover with Beads..

Hi dear my friends,
All my weekend was passed with crochet again. But this time I looked for some new ideas from Attic24. I found some crochet tin covers there and as all the other crochets of Attic24, I like this crochet tin covers so so much.

Well mine is a bit different from the crochet covers of Attic24. And I must say that Attic24 is proffessional and Mrs Lucy is making wonderful things.
I had an idea for looking Attic24. I used my crochet cover with my glass vase. I like colorful things very much..:))

Ederlezi....

This is a song name Ederlezi, Maybe you watched 'Time of the Gypsies' from Emir Kusturica. This was a Goran Bregovic song from that movie..



Today is Ederlezi for our culture. I know This is very interesting for you that  I want to copy some knowledges from Wikipedia. You will understand this interesting culture or maybe ceremony or ritual better..

Hıdırellez or Hıdrellez (Turkish: Hıdrellez or Hıdırellez, Azerbaijani: Xıdır İlyas or Xıdır Nəbi, Crimean Tatar: Hıdırlez, Romani language:Ederlezi) is celebrated as the day on which Prophets Hızır (Al-Khidr) and Ilyas (Elijah) met on the earth.^[1] Hıdırellez starts on May 5 night and falls on May 6 in the Gregorian calendar and April 23 in the Julian calendar. It is celebrated in Turkey ^[2] and throughout the Turkic world. It celebrates the arrival of spring and is a religious holiday for the Alevi as well. Đurđevdan is the Christian variety of this spring festival throughout the Balkans
Khidr and Elijah, the names of the two prophets, fused together, forming the name of the festival, Hidirellez.

There are various theories about the origin of Hızır and Hıdırellez. Various ceremonies and rituals were performed for various gods with the arrival of spring or summer in Mesopotamia, Anatolia, Iran and other Mediterranean countries from ancient times.

One widespread belief suggests that Hızır has attained immortality by drinking the water of life. He often wanders on the earth, especially in the spring, and helps people in difficulty. People see him as a source of bounty and health, as the festival takes place in spring, the time of new life.

Well these are some knowledges from Wikipedia, Now I try to tell this. Yesterday night Khidr met Elijah again. Every year at May the 5th, the same ceramony repeat again and again forever. So people want and pray that night to have whatever they want. But People must draw whatever they want on a paper. For example I want a new car, I must draw a new car picture, or I want a new house, I must draw a new house picture, Maybe I want to get married, I must draw a bridge with a handsome man..)). 

Yes after finished our drawing whatever we want, We must put the paper under a rose in a garden. Or If we haven't any garden we must go some rose gardens and put our papers under roses. It must be done on that night May the 5th.  We must say nothing what we drew on the paper. And the next day we must take that papers under the roses and maybe we must fire that papers nobody can see our papers. If anyone saw, our wishes what we drew on papers never been done. Never...

Is this good...:)) I think this is a very interesting culture and coming from some other cultures... I never believe this.. Well maybe I can pray God of course but I don't draw somethings on papers. When I and my brother were very young, my mother said us to draw whatever we want on some papers and she put the papers no rose but near some flowers in our balcony.. This was a game for us... This is still a happy game for me. 

Maybe a game for welcome to spring...

Well Ederlezi, Hidirellez is the first spring day for some cultures. And so many family goes picnics for today. They have to go picnic on Ederlezi day to celebrate the spring...

Hi, Dear my friends,
Thank you very much for your nice comments to my cat and dog video.. I think I will send this video to some TV channels to show cat-dog love..
Today is a sunny friday and I am smiling now.. Weekend comes but this weekend I won't go near my family. I think I will make some crochet but what I will do I don't know yet..
This is my last crochet jar cover. I put some flowers in it and took photos of all my crochet jar covers together..

Today is my 4th day that I don't smoke and This is going good... I am really happy for this reason but the most happiest is my mother.

Dear Meggie gave me an idea that I can save my money instead of paying for cigarettes. So I made a moneybox from one of my porselain boxes at home. Here it is..

This is my moneybox. It is small now. But I think one day I will have a huge :) moneybox.. Thank you Dear Meggie..

When I came to my office, I decided to take some photos of my office.. I am in this office from 8:00 A.M in the morning. to 5:00 P.M in the afternoon. Well hours may be changed but this is a rule of our University that all Assoc Proffessor must be at work between that hours...

We decided to make some decorations on the wall when I had been near my family in Konya city. As we like cats we sticked cat sticker on the wall. But some more sticker we had and we didn't decide where we should put these stickers. So my brother put the stickers on Otis and Foxy' bodies. They were very happy with stickers...

Ohhhh Poor Otis....

                              But we had some more stickers.. And this is the final... Good decision....

No no this is not a mustache.. This is only a moon sticker...

He lived with his stickers all the day. He ate the dinner with his stickers, He  watched  TV with his stickers . I think he slept with his stickers....

No cigarettes, Day 1st..

Good Morning Dear my Blogging Friends,
I am really appreciated to all my dear blogging friends that all of you encouraged me for quitting cigarettes. So this is my duty to tell this to my blogging friends firt. Then I ll call my mother and daughter and after all I will call my brother.
Yesterday I NEVER SMOKE.. Yes that's true. When I think to smoke only one cigarette, I remembered your good words to me and I think I can manage this.... Yes Yesterday was the first day that No Cigarettes..
I really want to tell my blogging friends first.. You Are really good friends that distances and countries are so far, but good thoughts, positive energies and sweethearts of you are near me. I feel that all of my dear blogging friends, yes you are sitting the next chair after mine.
Thank you dear my friends, You are all so good. I am saying this world from my deep heart.. I really want to say this good news to my blogging friends first..
Now I ll call my mother and daughter.. They will be so happy expecially my mother...

Crochet Baskets again.. And New Design of my Desk..

Today is May 1st, International Workers' Day, The Real Labor Day. So today is holiday for everyone and there is no work for me. I am at home now. It's 8:50 am. Still this time I didn't smoke any cigarettes... Ohh hard war days..... Lets wait and see....

 I made 1 crochet basket cover and 1 marmalade jar cover last night again. I like this work Ithink..:)) And this morning, I arranged my desk at my bedroom. Of course I am a big thief I saw this idea from Anna's blog again, and I stole in that time...)))

SURPRISE..:)) Eyelash Yarn Again..:)) Crochet Basket Covers...

Hi Dear my friends,, I am a bit happy today. I made 2 crochet basket covers and 1 marmalade jar cover yesterday. All weekend I was like a strong warrior and there was a big war beside me and myself.. How? I ll explain.. I am trying to stop smoking cigarettes.. Yes I know..  I am guilty I confess that I am a terrible cigatettes smoker.. But I decided to stop smoking and I went to doctor. He gave me some medicine That will help me to stop smoking. I keep to take that medicine and I wish I ll stop smoking in one or two weeks... So so hard... Like a war.... My hands are going through to cigarettes,, But a voice inside of myself, is shouting '' No No Stop..'' Look at this war.. Who will win..??
So I must find some works for forgetting smoking. I made 3 crochet basket covers then.. Ohh yes, I am very fast,, When I want to smoke, I made another crochet basket cover... Really very hard days for me..
Tomorrow, It is holiday because It is, May 1st, International Workers' Day. So we all have a holiday for only one day. What will I do??
I know, I know,.. New crochet Basket Covers... For stop smoking..:))

This is a plastic case for Yoghurt. I like Yoghurt so much..

I covered the plastic case with stripe crochet. And I used again eyelash yarn for the edges.. The other case on the left is my new yoghurt case. It is so old maybe vintage. But I like it and decided to use for yoghurt..

I used orange color eyelash yarn for this basket...

And the other Yoghurt case.. I used gold color eyelash yarn for this..

Now my cases are on my desk. I use one of them for my rings. And the other one for my pencils...

And finally my marmalade jar. I made a crochet cover for this. And I put my hooks in it..

I used burgundy color eyelash yarn..

I have so much eyelash yarn. I bought many colors of it. So I like to use the eyelash yarn.. I think It seems very decorative..
Tomorrow is a new day for stopping smoking.. I wish and I pray God...
